Texas Sheet Cake

Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) butter
1 cup water
1⁄4 cup cocoa
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1⁄2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1⁄2 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

Combine butter, water and cocoa in pan over medium heat. Heat until butter melts. Add other ingredients and mix well. Pour into 10 x 15 jelly roll pan. Bake 20 min. at 350.

Frosting:
1⁄4 cup butter
2 tablespoons cocoa
3 tablespoons milk
1⁄2 lb powdered sugar (about 2 3⁄4 cup sifted)
1⁄4 teaspoon vanilla

Combine butter, cocoa and milk and bring to a boil. Add other ingredients and mix well with electric mixer.
Spread frosting on cake while cake is hot. Can sprinkle chopped nuts on top if desired.

My friend brought this to work for some potluck thing and I couldn’t stay away from it. I don’t happen to own a jelly roll pan. Does that kind of pan really make a difference?
