Peanut Blossoms


1 3/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
1 egg, unbeaten
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 package chocolate kisses


Sift together first three ingredients. Cream butter and peanut butter while gradually adding sugars. Cream well. Add egg, milk and vanilla; beat well. Blend in dry ingredients gradually, mixing thoroughly. Shape a rounded teaspoon of dough at a time into balls. Roll in sugar; place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 8 minutes. Remove from oven and place a solid candy kiss on the top of each cookie, pressing down. Bake 2-5 minutes longer.

Yield: 3 dozen cookies
